Downrigger Fishing Stealhead Technique
Fishing technique with "downrigger" other than trolling.
This technique is for lake trout fishing. The one that hides, sticking in the cavities of the underwater cliffs.
1st step
You leave behind a distance of at least 100 feet between the lure and the trigger. As a lure, I recommend a 4-6 inch "suspending" Rapala.
2nd step
You will go down the whole thing to 100 feet deep.
3rd step
From the moment you have done the first two steps. You will glue an underwater cliff lengthwise. Important, go slowly in your approach, very slowly. You stick enough that the cannonball hits the cliff very gently.
4th stage
When you feel the cannonball hit the cliff, stop everything. So that everything does not break, the boat must remain immobile.
5th stage
And this is where the fishing begins. As soon as the boat is stationary, trigger your own line which is attached to the trigger.
6th step
You go up in 5 foot increments and you stop for a second and go back up for another 5 feet. In this way, if there is a gray on the lookout she will not be able to resist it and she will attack. The principle is to go up the Rapala as if it were climbing steps.
